On October 30, 2019, Henan's first list of provincial forest cities was announced, and Dengfeng was on the list, becoming the only county (city) in Zhengzhou to appear on the list. Backed by Songshan Mountain, Dengfeng forms the characteristics of tourist city and mountain city.
