The objective of the programme was to support the efforts of the government and the people of the North West Province to conserve the forest by raising widespread awareness of forest values and supporting capacity-building developments of sustainable management of forests and resources. The project has had positive effects through increasing societal awareness of forest values, knowledge and protection of critical biodiversity sites and greater sustainable use of natural resources.
