The project has been designed in an emergency context to help improve infrastructure and mitigate the negative environmental impact of floods in the country’s economic capital city Cotonou and to increase preparedness for future flooding. The project sets out to achieve these objectives through drainage improvement and rehabilitation, municipal solid waste management schemes, improved wastewater management and sanitation, flooding and disaster risk preparedness and management and project management.
