The project aims to address recurring difficulties of power cuts, Benin government has decided to invest in renewable energies to increase the supply of electricity by strengthening the country's production capacity, with the aim of ensuring greater access to reliable energy. To this end, it authorized the construction of four photovoltaic solar power plants with a total capacity of 50 MW in public–private partnership mode.
