The project aimed at increasing access to electricity through renewables, promoting clean air cooking solutions for household energy consumption, energy efficient lighting and sector technical assistance in disposing/recycling of Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CLFs). The project has resulted in millions in remote rural areas having access to renewable energy, an access increase to electricity of 12% nationwide, installation of 1,130 solar irrigation pumps and installation of 26 solar mini-grids providing electricity.
