The joint venture by Japanese firm Eiki Shoji Company Ltd having 95.1% shares in the project and local firm Sun Solar Power Plant Ltd having 4.9% shares is to set up a 5 MW solar plant in Sylhet, as part of the PDB's overall push to explore more renewable energy options. The government has brought variation in producing electricity to meet the power crisis.
