Aiming to raise rural electrification rates through autonomous solar photovoltaic systems, the project provides solar-powered street lamps, solar kits and solar panels for community facilities. Owing to the initiative, an entire solar-powered village with 500 houses was built in 2014. In line with the Angola Energy 2025 strategy, the aim is to implement 500 solar villages, 500.000 solar-powered street lamps, and produce 100 megawatts of solar power to rural areas.
