The UNDP and Angola’s government are implementing a six-year project to introduce energy-efficient charcoal technologies in Angola and trigger market demand for certified, sustainable charcoal. The project's goals are to strengthen information of the policy framework for sustainable charcoal, transfer sustainable charcoal technology to agents along the charcoal value chain and strengthen human capacities and institutions. This program intends to reduce the current unsustainable and GHG-intensive mode of charcoal production.
