OTCHIVA is a mangroves preservation project based on campaigns for environmental education, solid waste collection, reforestation and research to restoring the resilience of the national coastline. The initiative intends to counter the continuous degradation of mangroves. Key achievements include the increased green urban nature for carbon storage (wetlands, tree cover), whilst raising public awareness of behaviours, lifestyle and cultural changes with mitigation potential.
