The project launched in 2017 to provide access to electricity to users at different scales, such as households, institutions and businesses in designated areas of the Herat Province. It reconfigured the current energy supply of the region through a variety of investments, whilst piloting sustainable energy initiatives in remote locations. The results obtained deemed the project to have specific limitations, associated financial and non financial risks, flexibility and design issues.
